We remember gigs - 26 June 2020

We’ve kept ourselves busy during this gig free time and there are plenty of articles we’re editing at the moment and interview and the like underway. We again, find ourselves drawn back to gigs though. To fill the void we’ve chosen a few we’ve been at, purely because we remember it or we like one of the photos so here anyway; five photos and snippets of what we published at the time about these bands.


OPN AIR DRG MKT Cafe Yoko, Ho Chi Minh City - 14 February 2020


‘Its wrapped up in a high energy fuzzball who guitar who brings it all together and seems to be at the centre of it all. Gavin seems to be everywhere all at once, a streak of hair and guitar.’

Northern Revelation Evil Eye 25 Jan 20


From the off this is he musical bastard son of Manchester…sneering and snarling melodies…Definitely, and defiantly Northern, and a good revelation.

For I am King - Rebellion Manchester 12 Jan 20


They sound great on record and live they are about to exceed expectations. This Dutch band can play and its harsh and aggressive stuff kept moving forward by a front person who can deliver the growls as well as banter with the audience. Their blast beats and growling soaring choruses are delivered confidently with a full on metal attack.

Innocent Bystander - Vulcan Party - 22 Dec 19


This is full on punk from back in the day, they do not apologise, they churn out noise punk and its uplifting and unremitting.

Beak> - Arts Theatre - 05 Dec 19


One song ends with a cymbal crash that gets quieter and quieter and Beak> draw this out, going from full volume to barley audible. As they do the arts club is silent, as the cymbal reaches the volume of a pin dropping it can still be heard, I realise I’m holding my breath for extra silence.
